Greater Bendigo, Australia: Community leader Ajay Mishra has officially announced his candidacy for the Lockwood Ward by-election in the City of Greater Bendigo.
Mishra, who has a professional background in healthcare and community services, stated that his decision to contest the election follows the resignation of the sitting councillor. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, India, Mishra has been residing in Australia for several years and is known for his involvement in local community initiatives.
He currently serves as President of the Y-Service Club Bendigo and works closely with local residents and volunteer groups.

Speaking about his priorities, Mishra highlighted infrastructure and public transport as key areas of concern in the Lockwood Ward.
According to his statement, several busy intersections in the Maiden Gully area pose ongoing safety challenges for residents and commuters. He emphasized the need for improved connectivity and safer road systems.
